I definitely have a couple of ideas up my sleeve for these but you'll have to watch out for my future Benevolent Postcard Society posts as I'm not giving away my secret plans just yet if you don't mind ;)

You can download both of the Martha Stewart cards by clicking here...

I hope you find these useful even if your not a BPS member. I would love to hear what you plan to do with them. How about Save The Dates?

HIS 'N HERS PRINTABLE CALENDER

I love simple yet brilliant ideas that take everyday items and make them work even better for us. This his 'n hers calendar for October from Simple Blueprint is one of those simple, ingenious ideas that just make me think - 'Why didn't i think of that'?!

This printable calender has the dates down the middle instead of being aligned to the left leaving a space either side for you and your partner to mark important dates. Isn't that a great idea?

Let me know what you think and leave a comment below. I know I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for more his 'n hers calendars over the coming months.

Psst! Joanna also has a desktop calender and 2 A5 size designs to download if you want one all to yourself ;)

MR & MRS BYRD PRINTABLE INVITATIONS FROM JINJERUP

I received a lovely email this afternoon from Lynn over at Jinjerup telling me all about a new printable invite she had designed. I knew I was going to love it before I'd even opened the attachment. I was sold on the description alone:

"Its a cute invite card going by the name of "Mr & Mrs Byrd Invitation Cards" featuring a pair of little birds, dressed to the nines."

Yes that's right, today's printable features birds dressed up to the nines! What more could you want....

Mr & Mrs Byrd Invitation Cards

Quickly pop over to Jinjerup now where you can download the Mr & Mrs Byrd invites and follow the super easy step-by-step picture tutorial Lynn has put together for you over there.

You will need...

1. Paper (of a preferably thicker stock)
2. Printer
3. Scissors
4. Box cutter (blade)
5. Single hole punch (Optional)
6. Thin ribbon (Optional)

What to do...

1. Download and print the cards.

2. Take note of the 2 different type of crop marks. The dotted line crop marks (boxed in yellow) are folding lines. The normal crop marks (boxed in pink) are cutting lines.

3. Locate the 8 dotted line crop marks then score them across from one end to the other with the back of your box cutter. You would have scored 4 lines, this helps ensuring smoother folding lines later.

4. Cut out the invite card along its normal crop marks.

5. Fold along the scored lines as pictured here and press the folds together.

6. Repeat the same folding and pressing actions for the other side of the invitation card.

At this stage your card should look like this.

7. Write you message and send to your friends!

These are the basic instructions for making up your invites but Lynn has two more crafty ideas if you want to make them even fancier! Click here if you want to find out what to do with your ribbon and hole punch...

Although these were designed as invites initially I think they would be perfect for writing little notes to slip in your loved ones pocket. They are just so sweet. Id love to know what you plan to use these for too so leave me a little comment below.

Thanks Lynn for sharing such an adorable printable with us!

PRINT YOUR OWN DECORATIVE TAPE

I'm taking part in the Lovely Package Exchange on Oh, hello friend and have been working on my gifts and wrapping this weekend.

I love all the pretty Japanese tapes on Etsy but being the unorganised person I am, it's sadly too late to buy some for the Exchange. Not all is lost though! I put my crafty thinking cap on and came up with a way around the problem...

...Voila! I made my own...okay, okay so its not quite the same because you have to use a glue stick but it looks great, I promise.

I knew someone out there would find this useful too, so as I'm a caring and sharing kinda gal I've uploaded two styles for you here to print, cut and stick for your own packages :)

I'm slow to get the hang of this photography lark, (even with the natural light on my side!) so my pictures sadly don't really do this little project justice.

You should definitely give this ago next time you want something pretty to seal a card or a gift, it really can look beautiful.

What you need...

1. Tracing Paper
2. Printer
3. Adobe Reader (click here to get it free)
4. Craft Knife/Scissors
5. Ruler
6. Glue Stick/Spray Mount

Ready to start? Download the tape and instructions by clicking here...

SIMPLE WALLPAPER PROJECTS

I saw these refurbished wallpaper cans by Marichelle on Heart Handmade last week and couldn't wait to give it a go.

Click here for equipment, instructions and step by step pics so you can get crafty too!

To make mine, I used Laura Ashley wallpaper samples and a tub of Waitrose Cooks' Ingredients Dark Chocolate Chunks which was just 2 1/2" in diameter making it perfect for housing either the cotton pads I use to take my makeup off or as a desk tidy...I'm still undecided!
I think it turned out pretty good although I wish I'd had some wallpaper with a more graphic modern design as I think Marichelle's look fantastic in the Orla Kiely paper, very chic.

Once id completed the Heart Handmade project I'd created even more scraps so I used a 16.5cm x 11cm strip to make a little jotter. I cut 8 strips of paper each 16.5cm in length and 11cm wide to fill the book which meant I ended up with a cute little 16 page notebook to keep beside the bed.

If you use the same measurements as I did to make your jotter it will be small enough for you to use a regular stapler along the spine as I have done, if you're really cleaver tho you could hand stitch the spine ;)
Finally, to complete the set, I found a tiny 200g mayo jar that was the perfect size to house either the miniature set of colouring pencils I have from Paperchase or my q-tips. To create the jar wrap around you will need to measure the height of the straight side of the glass where it doesn't curve so you get a nice smooth finish. You then use a measuring tape to get the circumference of the jar so you know how long to cut your strip of wallpaper.

I divided the circumference by 2 so the paper would only wrap around half the jar but you could add a centimeter to each end so it wraps round the whole jar with a slight overlap at the back. I found Spray Mount worked well for this project as it gave me time to reposition the wallpaper to get it just right and it adhered well to the glass.

There are so many uses for these especially when you can get the containers in so many sizes. I think they would be excellent for putting little gifts inside, especially when you can tailor the paper to the person. You could even use them in the kitchen as refillable flour, sugar and coffee canisters if you labeled them!

Let me know what you would do with these pots by leaving a note in the comments section.

If you've found more wallpaper samples than you know what to do with hop on over to Chez Larsson where Benita has several fantastic tutorials that use wallpaper to transform things around the home.
