POCKET MONEY PICKS 04/SEP

Do you swoon over the beautiful letterpress finds on Nole's blog Oh So Beautiful Paper just like me? I'm sure you do so I made it my mission to find some affordable letterpress Pocket Money Picks so we could indulge in our love for letterpress without breaking the bank! Here's what I found...

1. Small Square Design: Bicycle Journal with Letterpressed Cover - $6
I have a thing for old fashioned push bikes so I liked this design from the get go. I loved it even more though when I saw the back had a little design and note for the owner too! I love that kind of attention to detail...don't you?

2. Sycamore Street Press: 8 Pine and Cocoa Bean Tree Letterpress Gift Tags - $8
I love that something as luxurious as letterpress can be applied to something as simple as a gift tag. I think these tags from the Sycamore Street Press would really make a gift look extra special.

3. Night Owl Paper Goods: Letterpress 'Owl Love You Forever' Card
I think this 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" letterpress card would be great, not just as a greetings card, but beautifully presented as a gift in a frame. The intricate pattern is beautiful and there is nothing cuter than an illustrated owl so whats not to love!

Hope you all had a nice week! Enjoy the weekend and I will meet you back here Monday...

POCKET MONEY PICKS 28/AUG

Why not spend your pocket money on a back to school treat even if you're not hitting the books this September! I have my eye on the Susy Jack* pegs for organising my desk...
1. Three Potato Four: 'Exercise' Set of three writing journals - $8
This set of 3 journals come in beautifully faded colours which give them a lovely vintage feel. The square paper inside makes them perfect for keeping track of expenses and shopping lists. If you're self employed and need to keep a record of your millage like me these would be great too. Just keep one in your glove box!

2. Susy Jack*: Day of the week clip set - $8.50
I see these stung up on a mini line above my desk so i can clips things on that need to be dealt with each day. Much nicer than wading through my in-tray every morning! Clip notes-to-self, bills to pay, invoices to chase, to do lists, permission slips for school....the list goes on and on.....

3. Wild Olive: Digital Journaling Collage Sheet - Homework Helpers -$3
I'll admit, I don't know much about digital journaling and scrap booking but Mollie's characters are always so darn cute I just had to share these. If you have one of those reward/progress charts for your children at home these would be perfect if printed small enough to fit your chart. They would also be great for sealing lunch sacs and decorating note books if printed on sticker paper, don't you think?

If you were going to spend $10 on a little treat for yourself this week what would you buy?

POCKET MONEY PICKS 21/AUG

As I said earlier this week, I'm taking part in the Lovely Package Exchange so I've got packaging on the brain this week! Check out these three new Pocket Money Picks that will make any gift look really special ;)
1. Valedesign: Printable Gable Box - $5
Graphic designer Erin Vale from the Leo on the loose blog has just launched a paper goods store on Etsy with beautiful packaging designs you can print at home! This Gable box is my fav ;)
2. PaperLeaf:4 Gift Tags - $2.50
I love the simple yet bold print on these tags and the fact they are screen printed by hand on recycled manila card makes me want them even more.
3. Yaelfran: 3 Mini Pillow Boxes - $10
I seriously heart Yealfran's store! She has some really cool things on Etsy but the boxes are just perfect for my packaging obsession right now.

Have a nice weekend everyone! Feel free to leave me a comment and tell me what your up to!

POCKET MONEY PICKS

hen I was little our local toy shop had a pocket money section with all sorts of little things I used to excitedly buy with my allowance. This is essentially what Pocket Money Picks is all about. Its somewhere you can find little handmade or thoughtfully designed pieces that wont break the bank but will bring a big smile to your face!

Everyone loves a freebie but I still think it's really important to support all the designers, illustrators, crafters, printers, artists and generally talented people that are trying to make a living from doing what they love. As it seems like everyone is on a budget these days (including me) I have been scouting the internet for beautifully handmade or thoughtfully designed pieces that wont cost more than $10 but will still support these creative talents. Every little helps right?

Here are the first three picks!...

1. Oh, hello friend: Up in the sky lovely charm button pins - $2.50each or $9.50 for 4
2. Andi's Prints: Blue bird and chandelier 5 piece printable stationary set - $5
3. Craft Pudding: Matryoshka rubber stamp - $6.50

If you had $10 what would you treat yourself with? Let me know in the comments section!
