Modern Pop Prints

I came across Modern Pop this morning and wanted to share Ryan Beshara's wonderfully chic prints for children with you here too!

Ryan Beshara has some great art for boys like the American Racing Drivers Club print below but she also has so many lovely gender neutral prints that would look beautiful in any child's nursery. I really love the colours Ryan works with she has the sweetest colour palettes so be sure to have a look for yourself!

Although Ryan's prints are mostly aimed at children (and parents!) I simply adore Alphabet Soup which I think would look beautiful in a home office, library or studio, don't you think?

Have a lovely day friends...

See more of Modern Pop here... website, etsy, blog, twitter

pssst...do you see that little strip of tape up there? Well I downloaded it from Creature Comforts and so can you, right here!

Inspirational Workspaces

Hello lovelies did you all enjoy the weekend?

I have been busy pinning and re-pinning all sorts of wonderful things on Pinterest over the last few weeks and it has revealed something to me...I have a growing obsession with studio and office spaces. This is probably because I have neither so I live vicariously through the lucky people that get to create in these amazing work spaces!

Here is a collection of my favourites...

psst...the background I used in this layout is a free download from Meredith Fenwick and the tape strips are from Pugly Pixel ;)

Sol Linero

I first came across Sol Linero's work a few months ago when Grace posted about The Working Proof on Design Sponge. I was so excited by her 'Dreaming About Shoes, Poncho and Lupita' print that I had to see more.

I think its Sol's bold use of colour that first attracts me to her work as she mixes so many of my favorites like orange, bright turquoise blue, muddy yellow greens and the most vibrant candy pinks, wonderful!

Finding more of her work on Flickr I was led to her website which is what I really wanted to tell you all about today because it is just so fantastic.

Sol describes SolLinero.com as being simple, cute and fun but I definitely have to add inspiring to that list.

Sol's webpage inspires me in so many ways. Not only does her site give me creative inspiration but it reminds me to keep things fun and functional, to think outside the box and above all experiment with colour. I think the light flicking on to illuminate the 'about me' blurb is genius :)

I'm sure you will really enjoy Sol Linero's work and her website so be sure to check it out for yourself. I should also tell you that you can shop at the Sol Linero Etsy Store if you would like a little piece of Sol Linero art for your home.

Speak to you soon friends.

-pssst...i couldnt talk about Sol Linero without mentioning Poncho her gorgeous pooch and Lupita the adopted Kitty who stars in many of her prints aren't they the sweetest!

Elle Decoration Illustrator Jenny Bowers

Jenny Bowers work is fantastic! I'm really happy to share some of Jenny's illustrations with you today because I think it's just what we need on a Monday.

I discovered her wonderfully bold illustrations in Elle Decoration(uk) and really admire her vibrant colourful style. The simple shapes, lines and bright colours make for some really fun illustrations, dont you think?

These images are taken from the March and June issues of Elle Decoration and you can see more of Jenny Bowers work here.

Have a lovely day friends!

Flora Douville Prints on Sale!

We are half way through the week, whoo hoo! On the one hand it's lovely looking forward to the weekend but I often feel a bit panicked when I get to Wednesday as I usually still have lots to get done before the week is up!

I love Flora Douville's illustrative style, it takes me back to thinking of all the wonderful picture books I loved as a child. Browsing the Flora Douville big cartel store just now I realised she has a sale on (including the above print) and thought I must share the news with you.

Doesn't this bear just make you smile? I think he has a very jolly, friendly expression which makes me happy :)

Cherry-ho friends...

A little blog with some big ideas...

Ta da! Make, Do & Send has a new look, what do you think?

I have several secret projects on the go relating to the blog and this redesign was top of the to-do list. I am coming up for my one year blog anniversary so it seemed a good time to reassess things round here and have a bit of a spring clean. I wanted to give the blog a clean more grown up feel that was easy to navigate which I hope I have achieved here. I really do hope you like it :)

There are a few more updates to the blog which I will introduce over the next few months but one new feature that I have added is the Guest Book.  A few people have admitted to secretly lurking on Make, Do & Send reading all the posts but never commenting. This is fine as we all dart around blog land and don't always have time to post comments but if you don't comment I cant find your wonderful blogs and follow you back. The Guest Book is therefore a place for you to drop by just once and introduce yourself. Hopefully it will turn into a great resource full of links to all your fabulous blogs for me and everyone else to enjoy. Chances are if you like Make, Do & Send me and my readers will like your blog too so stop by and let us know a little about you and your blog :)

I have been thinking alot about where the blog is headed and how I can improve things for you, my lovely, lovely readers so if you have any feedback for me regarding the blog I'd love to hear from you so why not leave a comment or drop me an email?

Have a great day friends x

I couldn't make it all about me today so here is a lovely craft inspired illustration by Alyssa Nassner that I found on Twig & Thistle. I'd love to have this hanging next to my sewing machine and Im sure you would too. Its just perfect isnt it.

Save Our Seas Print - Support NWF's Oil Spill Cleanup

Im sure you are familiar with Katie Daisy's work and her Etsy store The Wheatfield as her work has cropped up on Decor8, Oh Joy! and several other favorite blogs.

Even though I am on the other side of the world it really saddens me to see the devastation that has been unfolding due to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Katie has decided to do her bit for the cause and will be donating 50% of profits from the sale of her 'Save Our Seas' prints to the NWF.

You can find out what the NWF are doing to help here and buy prints of her beautiful 'Save Our Seas' water colour at The Wheatfield Etsy store.

Les Ciseaux by Eva Juliet

I seem to have a growing list of things which would be just perfect for the number one thing on my wish list...a craft/studio/office space of course!

This is the latest addition to my Etsy list of favourites 'for the studio' which I am sure you will heart yourselves once you've found your way to Eva's shop here.

You have probably seen Eva Juliet's prints before because I remember seeing this Button print everywhere on the blogs not so long ago. I really admire Eva's drawing style and I have a romantic picture of her in my head illustrating the original carefully and beautifully with pen and ink at a lovely old desk (vivid imagination, i know!).

Do you too think about the artist and how your piece was created when buying something handmade?

I think thats the beauty of Etsy and the handmade movement, I feel like there's a real connection with the creatives behind our favourtite products.

Polymorphia by Crystal Jackson

I adore the colours Crystal works with and I love the delicate quality to her work. It also fasinates me thinking about 'the small, sometimes hidden elements that make up our world' which she talks about as her inspiration.

I have written and re-written this post and nothing I say seems to do Crystals work justice so Im just going to point you to her etsy page so you can make your own mind up. Im sure you'll find her prints enchanting too :)

Have a lovely Monday all...

Thoughtful Day Clip Art

I love the world of blogs, you are never more than a click away from something new and wonderful.

When I have some spare time (and even when I don't to be honest!) I love nothing more that clicking around on some of my favourite blogs to see where they take me and off I go down the rabbit hole.

Today is no different and look at what I found...something truely brilliant I'm sure you'll agree!

I discovered It's The Small Things via Pin It Forward with sfgirlbybay who introduced me to Sunday Suppers which led me to find this fun invitation package by Thoughtful Day who designed these free clip art stamps following the circus theme for Martha Stewart Weddings. I then popped over to 100 Layer Cake to see the beautiful pics from Jenna & Jon's wedding! ....phew, hope that wasn't to confusing!

Let me break it down for you ;)

Click here to get your stamps and here and here to see the wedding that inspired them - got it? ;
